I made this as a experiment having never built a tumblr theme before. The tumblr api can be a little bit of a pain to work with so as a first go I'm really pleased with how this has turned out. I'm thinking of building more themes in the future so if your interested in a custom theme please contact me.
I built this a part of my one day designs series I will be doing many more of these over the summer but I really like this one. I keep meaning to go back to do more to it but it was only meant to be worked on for one day. The mask over the site really adds to the distressed look and the overall texture of the site see how to do that here. You will be best viewing this in chrome or safari as I haven't worked out all the kinks for IE. I'm seriously thinking of expanding on this design and having as my site for october as a halloween special.
This site was built as part of my uni course. I wanted to create something that was one page and had a simple design. So that the user would be able to access the information quickly and easily. I used a jQuery plug into to get the scrolling effect.
2StepSounds create music tracks for film, games and other projects I was approached to produce a concept for their new site. I decided to go with a retro feel to it have lots of texture and bright colours to entice the user.
Grade tracker is a new internet service so that students can check there grades online. Working as part of a team I was asked to produce a design for the splash page of the site. I used a magnifying glass image as if the user was searching for there information. Unfortunately the client felt that the design was a little too much as he wanted a plain and simple theme that wouldn't have to be changed. While I can see his problem I personally feel that its still a good design.
This may not be the most recent of my designs but it is the closest to my heart (lol). This design has been my home for the past year and a bit and even though its nt the greatest design and the code may be a little messy it will always have a place in my heart. I'm glad I've moved forward and created this new site and I feel its a great leap forward for my design and coding but I will miss the old girl
This was made for an assignment for my degree. The brief was to cover certain aspects of the social responsibilites that web designers face. The overall design of the site was not to be taken into account for the final mark. So I only spent two hours designing it but I think the information is set out in a easily understood way and it is informative.
I worked closely with this group to create their new website. They wanted a calm tranquil design to show the club as a relaxing place to fish and spend time with family and friends. This website also has a Wordpress blog which has been themed to fit in with the rest of the site.
This site is just a template it was created for a college project (along with the two below). The site is intended for a small web design business. I stuck to a very neutral colour palette the thinking was that it would make the site more accessible to people. I do like the use of the cardboard footer it makes the design a little quirky.
This site has been designed for a hypothetical sports shop. This shop caters exclusively to the female skateboarding community. To create a feminine feel to the site I used a lot of textures and bright colours sparingly. I didn't want the bright colours to over power the overall design. The colour scheme has been reflected in all the images and text really tying the design together.
This design is for a hypothetical new web browser. The browser is targeted at the 18 to 35 professionals age range. I chose to go with a bright colourful and textured feel (you can tell I liked the background as I reused it here). I used elements of the same colours throughout the design to create a link throughout the design. I also created the large image that is used as part of the background. The whole site is meant to feel young, bright and dynamic.
